About Control Valves

A control valve is a valve used to control fluid flow by varying the size and amount of the flow passage. Building owners use controllers to operate the valve. In the steam world, this enables the direct control of steam pressure as required.

Insulating Control Valves

Many boiler rooms have been producing steam for more than 50 years. In the past, hand-operated valves controlled steam pressure. Insulation that was in place was removed when buildings updated to new, state of the art, control valves. A very large percentage of control valves remain uninsulated, wasting energy and money!

Thermaxx Control Valve Insulation Jackets

Thermaxx Jackets can provide insulation jackets for control valves that would otherwise be left uncovered. By utilizing a removable insulation jacket from Thermaxx, your plant can benefit from insulated componentry without worrying about burn potential and energy loss:

  • The Right Fit: Our control valve jackets in come in standard sizes ranging from 2” -12” for popular Honeywell, TLV, Leslie, JCI, Vulcan, Spirax, Belimo, Emerson and Siemens. models. If addition, we are able to custom design a jacket for various needs.
  • Convenient: These jackets are complete with velcro straps and d-rings and seal flaps are used to connect the removable jacket to the adjacent insulation.  Most of our control valve insulation jackets are designed to be easily dealt with, and are able to be on/offed in a matter of minutes.
  • Cost effective:  Our standard line of control valve jackets provides a selection of insulation thickness from 1” – 2” for working temperatures from 2000 f – 6000 f . Extreme temperature insulation and custom jackets are available upon request. We’ll provide the most cost-effective and efficient jacket possible to maximize return on your investment from savings earned by preventing temperature loss, in addition to more reliable equipment.
  • High Quality: Thermaxx control valve jackets are designed with you in mind and are usable over a period of several years.  We guarantee our jackets with a 5-year warranty.
