SIZES
Our removable insulation blankets come in a variety of standard sizes, from 2-inch through 24-inch NPS. Standard-sized pads are commonly used to insulate and protect pipes and valves of steam heating systems, cold water systems, and even special-use equipment such as fuel or chemical lines.
We also create custom insulation blankets for equipment, pipes and valves with unique shapes or unusual dimensions. We’ve created custom removable insulation covers for items such as bulky steam jacketing and gate valves as well as for one-of-a-kind equipment and machinery.
Insulation Material
We use top quality needled fiberglass insulation for its ability to conform well to the object being insulated and maintain its shape for long-term performance. Our pads can withstand temperatures of up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit and pressures up to 600psi. Insulation thickness is typically from ½ inch to 2 inches.
Coverings
Our insulation blankets are covered with silicone-impregnated fiberglass mat for its extreme durability, water-shedding properties and write-on-wipe-off capabilities. All edges of our coverings are sewn (no hard rings are used) for superior longevity. A matte gray covering is standard, but other colors can be requested when easy identification is needed.
Closures
We employ a variety of closures, including Velcro™, snaps, drawstring ties, and double D rings. Closures for our standard pads vary depending on pad size. For custom pads, we can use whichever closure type is preferred by the client.
Ease of Use
Our removable insulation blankets are designed for ease of use - no special skills are required. Nearly all of our insulation pads can be put into place or removed in 5 to 10 minutes.
